“Expansion of the Universe”

 The accelerating expansion of the Universe:

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2011 recognized revolutionary, completely unexpected observations of the inflation of our Universe. The reward was divided to, Saul Perlmutter and the other half jointly to Brian Schmidt and Adam Riess, “For their discovery of the accelerating expansion of the Universe through observations of distant supernovae.” The expansion of the universe was actually already noticed by an astronomer in 1929; Einstein had to revise his famous equations about space. The expansion of the universe was actually not a discovery but it inflates the universe, but it expands with an increasing speed. “Imagine the amazement that the expansion [of the universe] was not slowing down but it was actually accelerating,” said Uppsala University professor Olga Botner during the Nobel Prize announcement in Stockholm Tuesday morning. “The unreal feeling could be likened to the feeling you get if you in your car step on the brake and suddenly you realize that your car is actually accelerating.”

 

 

The Theory of the Big Bang Theory:

Many people believed at first that the universe was truly infinite. Then the big bang theory, of course now though the universe would not be considered infinite anymore. Almost about 15 billion years ago a tremendous explosion started the explosion of the universe, this explosion was known as the Big Bang Theory! In 1929 a discovery by Edwin Hubble that the Universe is in fact expanding at enormous speed was revolutionary. Hubble noted that galaxies outside our own Milky Way were all moving away from us, each at a speed proportional to its distance from us. He quickly realized what this meant that there must have been an instant in time (now known to be about 14 billion years ago) when the entire Universe was contained in a single point in space. The Universe must have been born in this single violent event which came to be known as the “Big Bang.”

 

Surah:

[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?

Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.

  Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and we separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe? (21:30)

 

And the heaven we constructed with strength, and indeed, we are [its] expander.
